One Way Ticket To A Leftist Hell

The Left enjoys racial narratives, no matter how tenuously they’re constructed. The Zimmerman case is no exception. More Hispanic than white (his mother is Peruvian); a campaigner against (black) ethnic brutality; and a neighbourhood watchman; Zimmerman isn’t the ideal sell.

Still, disingenuously, ‘pillars’ of the black community and ultra-cathedralists painted Zimmerman as the latest embodiment of racial, vigilante fury. A pariah for racial grievances. Same as it ever was.

Of course the grand old irony here, as James Delingpole concludes, is if any of this is about race, it’s from the perspective of the hypothetical other side. If Zimmerman had been a White Anglo Saxon Protestant – throw in some blond hair – he’d more than likely of seen a full sentence. The jury, then, didn’t succumb to nebulous, white guilt, Zimmerman simply wasn’t white enough.

Trayvon, on the other hand, was a cherub-like figure, apparently. Selective middle-school pictures of a smiling, jovial Martin eclipsed the reality: he was a hood-in-the-making, a child possessed by the gestation of hip-nihilism – another seed ripe to the hive mind of criminal status-seeking.

Zimmerman had been over-powered, verbally threatened, and mauled by the taller, more muscular Trayvon. He could not run or hide, nor barely defend himself. Trayvon, high on weed/purple heal, more than likely paranoid or rage-susceptible from intoxicants, would have been an unwelcoming adversary. Zimmerman saw only a zero-sum game. In the heat of the moment, most of us would.

Although this incident wasn’t directly about race, it is now . Shamefully, we’re now privy to an all-singing, all-dancing media-circus platform: hosting far-left and black extremists. Spike Lee posts Zimmerman’s home address up on Twitter (Zimmerman wasn’t even back home yet, just his wife, nice), The New Black Panthers post ‘bounty’ on his head etc. none of this, of course, is condemned by the left. No, voodoo doll victims are ritually required for a 150 year burden that is built on and extorted for progressive ends.

Of course, the race card is the great feather in the progressive cap. It effectively kills traditional conservatism, reactionary leanings (i.e. a return to older ways). As Spandrell concludes from Nick Land’s seminal ‘Dark Enlightenment’ series:

“The past has a big, huge, gargantuan taboo. Race. In the past there was racism. Ergo we can’t return to the past. He succinctly summarises the progressive’s sense of mission with this sentence: “The alternative to more government, doing ever more, was to stand there, negligently, whilst they lynched another Negro”. That’s how progressives saw themselves, and how they see themselves now. Being reactionary means you have to deny that blacks deserved freedom and civil rights. And that claim requires HBD, which is a tough sell, and a greasy slippery slope.”

And just like banal, nationalistic rituals that remind us of our skewered interpretation of 2nd WW history, so, every time a black is killed by a non-black, the synergy of a progressive, relentless march is invigorated. What manifests is a cauldron of reactivity protected by a large ethnic, minority as human shield: fit for modern progressive, puritanical leanings. Such a horror can only end in leftist singularities.
